Fernet Lario is produced from a base of Highside Distilling’s Gin, which is distilled from Washington-grown apples. The base spirit is vapor infused with a blend of 10 different traditional botanicals. Post-distillation, the spirit is macerated with six different herbs and aromatics directly in a once used Rye Whiskey barrel for up to 9 months (including: Black Cardamom, Aloe Ferox, & peppermint). This results in a strong mint and menthol forward flavor, a hint of smoke, and an intensely bitter finish. The spirit is then finished with raw Washington mint honey for a touch of balancing sweetness.
