Please join us for a special seated tasting at Downtown Spirits with Charline Drappier from the Drappier Champagne House.
The vines of this estate were planted in Urville by the Romans 2000 years ago, but it was Saint Bernard, founder of Clairvaux Abbey, who had the cellars built in 1152. In 1808, the family domaine, Drappier, was created.
Drappier's historic "archives" of plots include the first Pinot Noir plantings by the Romans, as well as forgotten varieties, such as Arbane, Petit Meslier and Blanc Vrai. They follow an "authentic and a natural approach" in their champagnes. Grapes are cultivated according to organic and natural principles, a low quantity of dosage usage, and an extremely limited use of sulphites, culminate in delectable champagnes that reflect the multifaceted terroir and wine-making techniques.
On this special evening, we will host Charline Drappier, an 8th generation ambassador of the historic Drappier Champagne house, for a seated tasting and class of their champagnes. We hope you will join us.
