Father's Day Scotch Tasting
Sunday, June 16th 4:00 - 6:00pm
You don't need to be a Dad or bring a Dad to attend this very special event. Just a love for scotch whisky and a nose. Downtown Spirits is hosting a tasting led by Ty Jensen. This is a great opportunity to try some incredible single malt and blended scotches and learn more about their production methods. This is a private event, so please RSVP to email@example.com. Attendees will receive a gift with purchase of ticket, which includes a T-shirt, keychain and snifter glass.

Speyburn Bradan Orach:
Gaelic for ‘Golden Salmon’, Bradan Orach is a classic, easy drinking Speyside malt, matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. The bourbon wood gives the malt a wonderful complexity and depth, without making it overly challenging. Like the 10 Year Old it is very easy to drink and a great way to get to know Speyburn.
Speyburn 10 Year:
This perfectly-balanced single malt whisky was born in the Highlands of Scotland more than a century ago. It’s created using fresh spring water from Speyside. And, it’s this soft water which gives our whisky its distinctive character and unique flavour. With a fresh, clean aromatic nose of lemony fruitiness and a delicate fruity taste with hints of butterscotch and toffee.
Balblair 1991 and Balblair 2000:
Balblair is company's premium malt brand: a Highland single malt whisky that has been carefully crafted in Dornoch since 1790 at one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. Balblair whiskies are uniquely Vintage, titled for the year they were distilled, not with an age statement.
Every year, Balblair Distillery Manager John MacDonald, tastes, judges and selects straight from the cask, bottling at exactly the right moment, when the balance between the age and the character of the whisky is just right.
Old Pulteney 12 Year:
Matured wholly in air-dried, hand-selected ex-bourbon casks, the 'unashamedly excellent' Old Pulteney 12-years-old is the definitive expression in the Old Pulteney family. Traditionally crafted using techniques that other distillers have long abandoned, this winner of numerous gold medals at the most prestigious international competitions is a high water-mark of quality spirits. Features a dry nose with a hint of sea air, and a faintly salty palate with a slight sherry note.
Old Pulteney 17 Year:
Predominantly features ex-bourbon maturation, with the addition of spirit that has been wholly matured in Spanish wood ex-sherry casks, predominantly Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso. This adds a subtle depth and complexity to the whisky, making for an outstanding after-dinner drink. Traces of apples, pears and butterscotch on the nose, followed by a full bodied palate, with hints of vanilla and floral notes.
anCnoc 12 Year:
A boutique malt that is a refreshingly modern whisky that is traditionally crafted at Knockdhu distillery near Huntly in Aberdeenshire by the 'Men of Knock'. anCnoc translates from Gaelic as 'the hill', and Knock Hill continues to supply the pure water required, while the two copper pot stills are made to the same design as they were in 1894, their bulbous bases and high necks giving anCnoc a light, fresh flavour. Hints of honey and lemon on the nose, a sweet taste with a hint of fruitiness and a long finish.
Hankey Bannister is an exceptional blended Scotch that includes hand selected single malts and is carefully blended to create a smooth, light and perfectly balanced blend. Hankey Bannister & Co was established in 1757, and their illustrious clientele included Prince Regent William IV, George V and Winston Churchill. Today Hankey Bannister aims to bring an intriguing sense of style and sophistication to the crowded blended Scotch category.
Caorunn is a super-premium, small batch distilled gin from the Scottish Highlands.
